Funded by the Welsh Government, ESTYN is the trusted organisation that keeps an eye on the quality of education and training in Wales. It evaluates the quality and standards of a wide range of educational organisations - from nurseries and schools to adult learning and youth work across Wales.
We’re incredibly proud to share that Emerge Community Arts is celebrated in the latest Estyn report!
An Estyn Report is the outcome of a thorough inspection that assesses how well an organisation provides quality learning, supports well-being and offers care, guidance and lots of chance for personal and professional development.
The report shines a light on our partnership project with Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales, where learners with profound learning difficulties and physical disabilities engage in singing, movement, and communication through music. Estyn described our work as ‘inspiring’, noting how learners actively participate using microphones, percussion, visual aids and sign language.
The report reflects on the wonderful feedback we have received in our sessions this year.
One carer told us it’s the only activity their client engages in outside the home, and that it’s become the highlight of their week.
Music tutor Jamie said of the report, “As tutors, we see the joy, confidence and connection music brings every session. This recognition from Estyn reaffirms that we’re making a real difference.''
Performing Arts tutor Anna said, "Each session is tailored to the needs and strengths of the group, the session is fun and learners have made friends and feel part of this brilliant community. We love celebrating every small moment of connection and progress which is happening every week. Well done to everyone involved!"
While Estyn's report focuses broadly on the quality of education and training across Wales, it often highlights examples of extraordinary community impact. Being named among those is an excellent validation of our mission and efforts, and we are extremely thankful.
