The Wrexham expressive arts course which is taught by Emerge in partnership with Adult Learning Wales gave a very warm welcome to a very special guest in October- Mayor of Wrexham- Councillor Beryl Blackmore.
The mayor enjoyed talking to learners and the tutors about their course and was really impressed by the wide range of skills the learners have developed.
Tutor Anna Davies said:
“It was great to welcome Councillor Beryl Blackmore to the course. The Mayor commented on the lovely atmosphere in the group and made a point of chatting to everyone and singing along to 'Hey Jude' with our learners."
Gaynor Hanlon Curriculum Development Coordinator from Adult Learning Wales added:
“We really value our established partnership with Emerge – the learners gain so much from the sessions including opportunities to gain accreditation for the skills they have developed.”
The Mayor also caught up with learner Michael Beynon who was just about to run the Cardiff Half Marathon as part of 'Michael's 100km challenge' for Mencap. What an amazing guy!
